Melinda Saunders is Head of Finance at Occidental Asset Management, where she oversees firmwide financial operations, reporting, and internal systems. She manages everything from day-to-day accounting and billing workflows to partner-level reporting and Series LLC structures. With a hands-on, systems-focused approach, she helps support planning, decision-making, and sustainable growth across the organization.

Melinda brings nearly 30 years of experience in finance, operations, and data-driven roles. Her background includes full-cycle accounting, budgeting, payroll, HR, vendor oversight, and project management. She thrives on solving complex challenges and building practical systems that make work better for everyone. She’s especially at home in a good spreadsheet.

A resident of Burlingame, California, Melinda and her husband, Steven, have two grown children. Outside of work, she’s often running local trails or watching the Golden State Warriors. One of her favorite escapes is Monterey Bay—for the shoreline, sea otters, and a stop at Pavel’s Backerei. Earlier in her career, she once counted light bulbs for an energy services company and still brings that detail-oriented mindset to everything she does.
